In all areas of conduct, we seek to guide the student in the development of Christian character. The purpose of guidance is sanctification, not punishment. Students are free and expected to make mistakes, but no one in the Lord’s household is free to be willful and rebellious. In dealing with issues of conduct, the assumption is that most student transgressions of the Honor Code can be dealt with by a guiding word from the Bible, understanding that students attending HCCA are growing in the grace and the knowledge of Christ.
When a student’s conduct departs too far from the Honor Code, the teacher who is most directly in contact with the student should implement biblical instruction to aid the student in walking consistently with the Lord. On rare occasions when there is significant transgression of the Honor Code, the Headmaster will determine the significance of the transgression and the steps that need to be taken.
